why do jellyfish only sting when theres physical contact
why doesnt the electricity just surge throughout the entire ocean
why dont jellyfish rule the world
Fun fact! Jellyfish don’t use electricity to sting you. Whenever they feel pressure against their tentacles, it causes its cells to rapidly send out these stingers into your skin that then release its venom. Like this:
WHOA MEETING MATT SMITH IS A BIG FIRST CON EXPERIENCE, That’s so cool.
Okay so I’ve been through this situation once or twice, so here’s my advice. It never hurts to introduce your non-otaku friends to some friendly con going, but be prepared for a response that is wither on the “meh” side or the “why am i here, why does he have a tail, wHY IS THIS PERSON TOUCHING ME—” side. However, it may also be an enlightening moment for them. I brought one of my nerdy but not-so-much anime/comic nerdy friends to a con once and she enjoyed it, but she never went to another. She liked the experience but didn’t consider it as fun as I did. Some people have nerdy potential and will go and then be HOOKED.
But cons are very scary places, so try not to force your friends. Maybe show them pictures from your last con, pictures of cool cosplayers, and tell them all the cool things you did. I can manage to convert people who’ve barely even heard of anime into wanting to attend a con because I have so many fun stories to tell! Maybe watch some animes with them, ones that are popular and appeal to large crowds. Be slow with it, like feeding a bunny a carrot. Don’t pounce on them. Share the positivity with them. You and I know how FREAKING HELLA AWESOME cons are, and hopefully they’ll listen to you. If not, oh well. You’ll find friends who are just as into as you are soon enough! c:
